It was evening, and not winter anymore.
A duck swam alone to her direction,
making ripples on her
peaceful reflection,
effortlessly,
slowly,
and the world waited
like a patient student
just to watch her.
*
You also wanted
to be able to swim,
without knowing
the address to reach.
Slowly.
*
You learned to breathe by
counting every second,
measuring the distance
between places
with a wristwatch,
and with heartbeats.
*
You learned time didn’t wait for us.
It just followed its clock.
You carried the burden-
like how you carried
your books, nights and griefs-
and you embraced it
and moved forward,
fell down,
balanced it,
but walked till the end.

Oh Thank you so much! 🙂
“measuring the distance
between places
with a wristwatch,
and with heartbeats.” – Stunning!
