San Francisco

Time is an illusion.” ― Albert Einstein

When I go for a walk with my camera, I try to capture the world around me. The shadows, the reality, figures disappearing into the crowd, birds returning to their nests after sunset, time lurking beneath timelessness.  Somehow, it’s my own process to freeze time on papers.

But is it that easy?

“They say I’m old-fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast!” ― Dr. Seuss

Everyone is afraid of time. And I’m afraid of all these clues of time. How fast it moves forward. How fast it changes the clocks. How slow I feel when I compete with it. How nothing remains the same. How I can’t fix anything without the help of time. Broken hearts, broken bones, broken words.

Ansel Adams said, “When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs.”

When time is the thief of my memory, when time is not sufficient, I’ll try to be content with photographs. Because there lie the clues of what I misplaced and what I gained.
