Memory : The Deity with a Notebook

She follows you everywhere

to inscribe your whimsical life

on a crisp page of time;

and in silence,

she chants her unending incantations

 to hypnotize your splintery present

with an elated, inevitable reminiscence.

Exactly 33 words for Trifecta Challenge , this week.

 What Trifecta asked : “Buddhist cosmology tells of Trāyastriṃśa, or the Heaven of Thirty-Three gods, which rule over the human realm.  This weekend we’re asking for exactly 33 of your own words about a god of your own devising that shares heaven with the other thirty-two gods.  Make it yours and have fun with it.”

  1. Aww Archita,how lovely of you to say that,thank you so much 🙂 You work and write?Oh my!I am more impressed now-juggling daily life without even working is tough-cannot imagine how you all manage to do it after a hard day’ s work-Kudos!

  2. You are one of my favorite authors here , Atreyee. You write so well. 🙂 I write well only when I am completely stressed out by work..I think writing has been an escape route from my regular work life..

  3. Wow!”she chants her unending incantations

    to hypnotize your splintery present”-so true,yet we all take this God for granted knowing very well,tomorrow is promised to none-sigh!Wonderfully picturesque,this piece-loved it Archita:-)

  4. Lovely! I wish this particular god would visit me more often – I forget all too much. I love the idea of “inscribing your life on a crisp page of time.” Fantastic.

  6. Thank you , Trifecta , for the mind-blowing challenge . It’s a real challenge to convert endless thoughts to 33 words and I love doing it. 🙂 I ‘ll be back to vote .:)

  7. Actually , it’s a tribute to one’s own memory – the one notes down everything and makes the past more beautiful than the present. 🙂 Thank you for the readership and support , Vishal.:)
