“It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start.”
– Mother Teresa
“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
“Bless people when they revile you. Think how much good they are doing by helping to stamp out the false ego.”
– Swami Vivekananda
“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,
but to be fearless in facing them.Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but
for the heart to conquer it.”
– Rabindranath Tagore

After travelling the whole world , after reading many books and articles , you may realize that the wisdom that your mother shared with you is still the best one.
The composition above is a collection of quotes my mom uses . They are her most favorite peace quotes.
The last one is a song by Tagore that she used to sing to us . To a 8 year old me it was a lullaby , a lullaby made of powerful words that stayed with me , and I remember it pretty often , specially when I seek peace in my stressful work life.

How true! Thank you very much too for your beautiful and kind words. 🙂
Mahalo for sharing the wisdom your mom passed down to you and for reminding all of us to be kinder to those we see every day.
Thank you so much. 🙂 More peace to you too. 🙂
Peace be with you.
I know , Kozo! I had a wonderful childhood ! 🙂 My mom did her specializations on Tagore’s literature ; so I grew up knowing deeper meanings of those poems. 😀 ..Thank you for the comment and for the wonderful B4Peace project. 🙂 More peace to all of us. 🙂
I am sure , there are other people who will smile back , Indira. This world is pretty big. 🙂 Do not even bother to look at these people who gave you strange looks ! Huh!.. morons they are! And you are wonderful , when you smile , the world shines! *Hugs*
Hi, I tried that from my side only to get strange looks.
What an incredible experience to have been bathed in a lullaby of Tagore. Your mother has some deep peace in her heart. Thank you for sharing these heartfelt and inspirational quotations with us. {{{hugs]}} Kozo
Yes. Love brings peace. It’s that powerful .Any kind of love . Thank you very much, Vishal, for the support and comment.:)
Yes , she is. And when she learned I blogged about her , she was not at all happy. She said , “All mothers are wise. Why don’t you celebrate all of them? “.. 😀
Of course , you can add the Tagore quotation to your inspirational page. I love those powerful words, you know. 🙂
I loved your peace quote and had to link up. 🙂 More peace to you too, friend.:)
That’s my favorite too. Very powerful words. Thank you , Itty, for the readership and the support. 🙂
Yes, people are becoming more mechanical ; they have time to skype / FB friendship , but no time to pass a smile to known people , neighbors! There are many things I like about USA – one thing is , here , everyone greets each other with a smile and a hi or hello. I get a “hello” even from strangers , in the forest I meet while hiking . I love that gesture . 🙂 Thank you , Indira , for your comment and the readership. Love and hugs to you.:)
I agree with you completely. 🙂 Thank you for the visit and your words. 🙂
Inspirational and beautiful.
I never cease to be amazed at the treasure chest of thoughts and quotes that exist in the world. What is it that needs to be done to get these internalised and support society to gain richness and wisdom?
Shakti
Lovely image, that’s a lovely thing to say, so true. :-). All the quotes are so inspiring and beautiful. People have forgot to smile. When we go in lift , some even don’t look up, lest a smile may escape from their face. Strange.
My favorite is the one your mother sang…
a wise mother you have and i do love the Tagore quotation – it is a good life mantra. i hope you do not mind, i will add it to my inspirational page. ♥ thank you for the ping back as well. abundant peace to you.
Your mother is one lady full of wisdom and who has a beautiful heart:)
The quotes are rich to lead a healthy life. Love is what makes us go from strength to strength:)
Thank you , Pauline. 🙂 That quote brings strength and peace. 🙂 Yes, she is very wise and I am a proud daughter. 🙂
Beautiful quotes Archita! The Tagore one is on my list of quotes I am intending to journal. Your mother is wise! 🙂
