Weekly Photo Challenge: One Shot, Two Ways

When I go to a place for the first time I always want to be surprised. The feeling of being surprised by beauty of a place creates the most beautiful memory!

And that is ideal scenario…

In reality ,We  do a lot of research about the place , nearby food joints , sun set time , sun rise , weather forecast etc etc  before stepping out of the house!

Sometimes, so much research makes me  feel like I have known the place forever!..

Thanks to Yelp, tripadvisor and travel blogs – surprises are killed!..

I do not like to click the same picture twice.. ..

I also do not like to go to the same place twice on the same day..

but there are exceptions….

Just like the place in photograph where I want to go again & again…

  1. I know right! Some places are evergreen, forever charming! 🙂 They can surprise us every time we stop by. 🙂 Thank you for your comments. 🙂

  2. Thank you , Sandra , for your comment. Yes, I think each moment is different from the other; that’s how two pictures can look so different.:)

Yes, after researching , some places and topics look like we knew them since forever. 🙂

  3. I can see how this would be a challenge, seeing how you don’t tend to take the same photo twice. Both look entirely different from the other aside from some similar forms within each image.

I can also relate to that feeling of knowing something more intimately after researching it. Happens to me a lot for the freelance writing projects I have taken on.

  4. I do not know what changes India brought to itself in last quite a few years. But, I can tell you about another little gem ; Cha Bar at Oxford Book store – one of my most favorite spots to read books!:D

  5. You know… I have heard ao. But every time I am there, I can not help wonder- kidhar baithu waha ki koi disturb na kare… Irrespective of my experience, if at all one can sit there and read… Well… Nothing like it 🙂

  6. That is wonderful too. I have only a few places where I love going back again and again…the first one is definitely home..:D and then this place and others..:)

Spotting the same face in the shop – maybe , a good idea, Arch. I have moved to so many places that I do not know what my reactions would be if I go back to places that made good memories.:)
New places – I love..adventures, knowing something new and I get adjusted in no time.I think my brain is programmed like that as I had to travel whole life.:(

  7. I like visiting a place more than once, coz each time we visit, new memories are formed and the old ones are cherished. 🙂
I like the feeling of familiarity in a place. Spotting the same face in the same shop even after visiting years later, brings a sense of happiness and the feeling that everything has been fine. 🙂 New places on the other hand makes me feel strange and out of place. It takes time for me to get adjusted.

  8. That is a list worth imitating. North East has been neglected for some reason or the other by most of us, and it shouldn’t be.

CCD/CostaCoffee?? Really ? Centres of mass consumption 😉 Taking it with a pinch of sugar 😀

  9. Delhi is beautiful. I definitely want to visit Delhi again. 🙂 Le Ladakh is in “To do” list, so is North East side Arunachal, Mizo etc..and Sikkim , Bhutan.:)..I travelled a lot in India , still so many places remain in the list..hopefully one life is enough to see them all. 🙂

Other than cities, states etc – Landmark , crossword, costa coffee and CCD were places to visit again and again..:D

  10. Beautiful indeed.
Personally, I am yet to be at a place ( other than the lone spot in Delhi of course, where I get to whenever I am depressed ) where I want to be time and again. The other, uncomfortable truth is that I have not travelled as much I would have liked to. Not till now. So maybe, one gets the emotion to ‘get back’ when one travels more and more. Like I know that Brazilian rainforests will mesmerize me. And so will the African Safari.

Where else would you like to be?

  11. Same here. I too love that.
Nowadays, thanks to all resources available in the internet, there is nothing like surprise. If we already have seen photographs and read reviews, tips then there’s nothing new to catch , right!..:)

It’s dusk. Just the sun was leaving to sleep behind the hill. 🙂 Thank you so much, C,K, for stopping by.

  12. I used to love getting in the car and just driving, no destination in mind just stopping wherever seemed good! I do some research now before I head somewhere but, not too much, some things I leave to find out when I get there. 🙂

As always, Archita, beautiful pictures. I like the one at dusk (I’m assuming it’s dusk!) best! 🙂

  13. Sure.. mail me. I am yet to publish your beautiful post on my blog.
I watched chennai express on a thursday mid-night and now *almost sleeping* to end this Friday to welcome weekend. 🙂

  14. Ya, long drive makes me car sick too.. 🙂
I get bored with road travel if there is nothing [ ocean , mountain , shops , people ] to watch outside ..:)
Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend.:)

  15. aha! I am not a fan of SRK but love him on stage. I’m dying to watch Chennai Express, btw:) You should blog bout list of things and I am extending an invi for a guest post on ur part on my space. Are you game?!

  16. Hello Vishal, your comments , heart-felt words keep making my blog beautiful and inspire me to write more from my life experiences. 🙂
So, Thank you very much. 🙂

There is a big list of things that I cannot do. List starts with – I CANNOT MISS SRK’S MOVIES… :D:D and then there are more.. :)ha ha

  17. Archita! I really fell I should stop commenting on ur blog coz words fail me. Really! should I stop being surprised on what you do?! r, is there anything that you cannot do? 🙂

  18. Actually, I wanted to write more about it. But , this morning was too busy to get words. Maybe, I will write more this evening or this weekend.
Patrick, don’t you think , during driving , we sometimes focus more on the left side and then during driving back home our left side is actually the right side of previous time…and that’s how sometimes, it looks like a new road/place?

  19. I like you comment about not going to the same place twice in one day. I don’t like drive home on the same route I took to get somewhere. I do make exceptions for some of my favorite back roads.

So what do you think?
