In life , we come across many things ; a lot of them look beautiful from distance ; a lot of them stay in our heart – we call them dreams , desires ! So often ,the idea looks better than the reality!
For example , I am not a jogging person. I never was. After the knee disaster , jogging looked like a fancy dream. And I did think that – someday, maybe , I’ll jog in the afternoon Sun when the temperature is around 105 F ; I’ll listen to Owl City – “Its always a good time ” ; of course I’ll buy a better headphone!
Some stories do happen everyday in front of my eyes. From my car, I see people running miles in extremely hot afternoons! It’s a happy sight! I fall in love with the idea pretty fast.
But , I know that I do not like 105 F Sun in reality . I know , I can never run with a headphone! I am that kind of person who prefers to focus on the road in stead of music! When I walk on treadmill, I always look at the calorie-counter , miles covered , levels etc! Maybe, I love numbers a lot! Maybe , music does not help me to focus on important things that matter more, at least to me!
Two weeks back there was a photography challenge – “Golden Hour”. I saw so many beautiful sunrise photos that the world shared with daily post ! I had only two sunrise pictures and hundreds of sunset pictures in the hard disc.
I am not a morning person. I see a rising sun only in winter when our rising time matches!
But , early mornings are good . Even though, I do not love them. They look good on TV , photos and on stories my early riser mom tells me everyday. I love the idea of waking up early . In reality , I have a bad relationship with mornings – Monday to Friday!
Last evening , the husband and I made a sunrise time hike plan. We planned this earlier too for n number of times , and failed every time . There were blame games. We made plans , strategies , set three , four alarms. And nothing could help EVER.
But , this time, I took the plan pretty seriously. So seriously that I could not sleep last night. I was up at 4 AM , making omelette and tea in the kitchen.
We had a LATE NIGHT breakfast at 4 AM! Really !It looked like late night because the Sun was not up properly until 6:30.
We did not carry a camera. Because like all other times , I did not want this trip to be a photography hike. Normally , we both jog/walk and take photographs. Tons of pictures of the sky, clouds , fish , birds . Less walk and more photography – and we name it – “Hiking” ,which I wonder ,if ever helped us burning calories.
Today is a cloudy day , at least till now . But , I saw a beautiful sun rise. I did phoneography ( Who needs a heavy camera bag to save moments these days!). I clicked lots of pictures again and walked for 2 hours, until my knee hurt !
I feel pretty light now ; not lightheaded ; but light-hearted.
*** Try watching the sunrise tomorrow and let me know if your heart felt lighter! I can wait longer to hear your stories. You can go back to sleep and snooze till next weekend !😀
P.S – I forgot to share that I jogged today. Nothing is impossible ..if we try! 🙂
Ha ha Ha. This is awesome. This is exactly what I think. 🙂 I am more awake to enjoy the sunset. 😀 Only in winter , I see sunrise 😀 Thank you for stopping by and take care:)
I am not a morning person at all! I did watch the sunrise this morning though, it is beautiful but I still like the sunset better. I’m more awake to enjoy it 😉
LOL..:D:D
I jogged today..:):)….Great….Next Bhag Archita Bhag…:):)….
I like to read with meals too if there is enough time. 🙂 You have a fun blog!
Oh! Exactly! My eyes need to be occupied too; that’s the reason ,maybe,I don’t listen to music. 🙂
There was a time when I used to read at the dinner table too , spending 1 hour trying to finish a meal. 🙂 Now , there’s not that much time to read like earlier. But recently , for two books , I behaved like the younger me – read nonstop till the end. 🙂 So glad to know another book lover like me . 🙂 And welcome to my blog. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Vishal.:)
As always, you have the perfect eyes for photography. Picture Perfect, Perfect writer. This is it:) Brilliant post as always.
What a great post! I am not a music person on the treadmill either. I find my eyes need to be occupied in order for the time to pass quickly and as a result I try to read. When I was a kid I used to read while walking home from school and I guess the habit has never left. 🙂
